In 1970, Hiralal Kotadia struck the first sheet of steel that would become ABCD Drums & Barrels Industries, working out of Mumbai Central at a time when industrial packaging across India was a patchwork of inconsistent quality and broken promises. He set out to build something different: an operation where a customer's word carried the same weight as the seal on the drum, and where precision wasn't a premium feature but the baseline.
That single, uncompromising standard is what turned a small Mumbai Central workshop into a name paint manufacturers, oil refiners and chemical processors across the region learned to trust without a second thought. Five decades on, that same trust is the foundation beneath a full-scale manufacturing facility in Bhiwandi and a corporate office in Andheri East, Mumbai — proof that a promise kept for fifty years compounds into something far more valuable than any single order.

When Rajesh H. Kotadia took the helm, he inherited far more than a factory floor — he inherited a standard, and set about multiplying it. Over the past 15 years his leadership has driven 10x growth, expanding production capacity, widening the product range from 10 litres to 200+ litres, and earning the trust of some of the region's most demanding industrial buyers.
His philosophy is unambiguous: a drum is only as good as the consistency behind it. Every unit leaving the factory floor today carries the same obsession with quality that defined the company's very first batch — proof that scale and precision were never a trade-off, only a matter of discipline.
Built for the Future: The Third Generation
The next chapter of ABCD Drums & Barrels Industries is already being written by two brothers, two disciplines, one shared conviction that the family standard deserves to go further still.
Dipesh R. Kotadia joined the company in 2015 and has since become its technical backbone. From production efficiency to quality control to the fine engineering detail behind every opening, seam and coating, Dipesh's hands-on command of the shop floor ensures scale is never bought at the expense of precision — he is, in every practical sense, the engine room of ABCD's manufacturing excellence.
Yash R. Kotadia brings a different vantage point to the family trade. After completing his Master's degree in Arizona, USA, Yash joined the company in 2024, pairing a global business education with a five-decade-old manufacturing discipline. His focus is on how ABCD operates and how it's seen — customer experience, digital presence, and positioning the company for a generation of B2B buyers who expect the same professionalism online that they've always found on the factory floor.
Together, Dipesh and Yash are the clearest evidence of what ABCD Drums & Barrels Industries has always stood for: uncompromising respect for the craft, paired with the ambition to build it bigger for whatever comes next.
